NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao has instructed the officials concerned to distribute all the Dr YSR Aarogyasri cards without fail. The State government considers health security as a right for the poor and middle-class people by providing medical treatment up to Rs.25 lakh, he said.
Dilli Rao, along with Joint Collector Dr P Sampath Kumar, convened a video conference with all MPDOs, municipal commissioners, and district coordinators to discuss distribution of Aarogyasri cards and Biometric App download (E-KYC), from his office in Vijayawada on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 100 per cent distribution of Dr YSR Aarogyasri cards should be ensured. The card distribution should be conducted with transparency and accountability through gram/ward volunteers based on e-KYC, he added.
Further, he asked the officials to collect photos of the heads of the families. However, photos have not been printed on the Aarogyasri card due to various reasons. There would be a chance to make changes in Aarogyasri cards and if necessary, new persons would be included in the cards, he pointed out.
Meanwhile, the Collector said officials should create awareness of the Aarogyasri scheme and people should utilise these cards. He urged people to download the Aarogyasri app.
NTR District Aarogyasri Coordinator J Suman said that as many as 4.11 lakh Aarogyasri cards have been distributed so far as against the target of 5.82 lakh.
Out of the remaining 32,160 cards, 20,000 people migrated to other areas or died, he said.
