Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, following the successful conduct of TET 2024, has directed officials to ensure transparent and well-organised arrangements for the upcoming Mega DSC examination.
During a review meeting on School Education and Intermediate Education, Minister Lokesh discussed the procedures for the Mega DSC, emphasising the aim to provide maximum opportunities for eligible candidates. He also announced that Best Teacher Awards would be presented on November 11 and suggested that a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) be organised in the first week of December, involving parents to help raise educational standards in schools.
The Minister instructed that all teacher promotions and transfers be completed before the next academic year begins. Officials informed him that the APAR ID programme for students across the state has achieved 57.48 percent completion. Minister Lokesh stressed that report cards should be distributed to all students in government schools and recommended a focus on improving school rankings, ensuring that government schools are on par with private institutions. He also called for measures to improve student attendance and directed attention towards upgrading infrastructure facilities such as toilets, drinking water, benches, leak-proof buildings, and school maintenance.
Additionally, he proposed dividing the state into four zones and evaluating potential changes to the mid-day meal menu for students. He emphasised the goal of establishing a government junior college in each mandal by next year and improving pass percentages in government colleges. Bridge courses should be organised for slow learners where necessary, he added. Minister Lokesh also suggested exploring the use of AI to evaluate intermediate students’ answer papers.
School Education Secretary Kona Sashidhar, School Education Director Vijayaramaraju, Intermediate Education Director Kritika Shukla, and Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao were present at the meeting.
