Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravikumar alleged that the previous YSRCP regime had wasted Rs 19,871 crore of the Government money during the five years regime.
The Minister participated in the public grievance programme, organized in the TDP State headquarters, NTR Bhavan at Mangalagiri on Wednesday. Talking to the media on the occasion, Minister Ravikumar said that a large number of victims of Jagan Mohan Reddy headed regime thronged to the grievance meet and explained the injustice meted out to them.
The victims with tears filled eyes explained to him about the frauds committed by the YSRCP leaders during the five years rule and the loss they incurred and urged him to justice.
“Due to anarchic rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy, the State had become bankrupt. The YSRCP leaders committed financial destruction in the State making the Government debt-ridden. The Government had borrowed over Rs 8 lakh crore during the five years regime,” the Minister lashed out.
“The then Government had given 1,600 crore worth advertisements to the Sakshi media. The YSRCP administration had spent Rs 3 crore for refreshments like effpuffs,” he slammed. Despite the YSRCP borrowing lakhs of crores of rupees, there was no development in the State and the money was not spent on development, he lamented.
The Energy Minister highlighted that the coalition Government under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has paid the Rs 22,000 crore arrears of health, paddy purchase and fee reimbursement. “Now the State Government is unable to borrow money for development due to misadministration of the YSRCP regime,” he claimed.
The coalition Government is forced to pay Rs 71,000 crore interests on the loans borrowed by the previous Government, he deplored. He lambasted that the Jagan government has caused immense losses to farmers due to its negligent attitude in irrigation projects, which are crucial for the agricultural sector.
Minister Gottipati Ravikumar expressed impatience that the YSRCP Government had not paid dues, worth Rs 19,000 crore to the contractors of the irrigation department in the last five years. The impact of these dues is affecting the construction of current irrigation projects now, he lamented. He alleged that funds worth about Rs 256 crore were misappropriated in the purchase of chickies and eggs to be distributed to the school children.
