A delegation from the 2000m² global initiative, which focuses on sustainable agriculture, visited the Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) to explore potential collaborations and knowledge exchange. The team, comprising Jasper Jordan, Benny Haerlin, Diogo Coutinho, and Lukas Kaehler from the German Free Bakers Association, interacted with RySS officials, farmers, and experts to understand Andhra Pradesh’s Community-Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) model.
T Vijay Kumar, Executive Vice Chairman of RySS, briefed the delegation on the APCNF model, highlighting its impact since its launch in 2015.
The visitors appreciated RySS’s efforts in promoting natural farming and discussed their initiative of allocating 2000 square meters of arable land per person for food production.
The 2000m² project aims to raise awareness about sustainable agriculture and food security by showcasing small-scale farming models in nearly 30 Global Fields across countries like Germany and Kenya. The initiative plans to expand into Asia and South America to promote agroecological practices.
The delegation later visited natural farming fields in Nuthakki village, where they observed an A-grade banana model cultivated by Srinivas Reddy, who has practised natural farming for seven years. They were particularly impressed by his commitment to avoiding synthetic inputs.
Both sides expressed interest in fostering global cooperation, including farmer exchange visits between Germany and India, to promote sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
