Every vote removed should be re-examined: Collector

District Collector P Prashanthi has directed the officials to re-examine every vote that is removed due to technical reasons.

The Collector held a video conference with the officials including mandal-level officials here on Friday and reviewed various issues including land resurvey, stone plantation, construction of houses in Jagananna colonies, providing basic amenities, land acquisition, issuing of CCRC cards and civil supplies, and inquired the progress of the works.

Speaking on this occasion, the District Collector made it clear that every vote removed in the district should be re-examined. The files checked by the Booth Level Officials should be checked by the special officials’ polling station wise; she said and directed the officials to complete the process by August 30.

The Collector said that records of actions taken by each voter Taluk, notices issued, and answers related to the Taluk file should be uploaded to ERO net. Importantly, people should be aware of the reasons for the deletion of entries from the voter list, she told the officials.

The Collector said that the land re-survey should be done quickly in the villages and if any deficiency is found, the officers and the staff concerned would be held responsible.

A permanent solution should be given to every complaint received in the Spandana programme, she said, stating that every grievance complained to the officials during the Spandana programme should be resolved.

The Collector instructed the officials to take steps to resolve the legal problems of land layouts. Collector Prashanthi has warned that if the lower level staff delay the government’s goals on the pretext of technical difficulties, such officials would be identified and departmental action would be taken.

District Joint Collector S. Ram Sundar Reddy, District Revenue Officer K. Krishna Veni, concerned district officials, election staff, and others participated in this meeting.
