Evolve plans to develop Prakasam dist: Minister

Minister for Social Welfare Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy has urged officials to devise plans to develop Prakasam district as ‘Swarna Prakasam’ by 2047 and called on everyone to contribute to this development mission.
A workshop on ‘Swarndhra@2047, AP Vision Agenda’ was held here on Tuesday, attended by the MP, MLAs, Collector, and others. Addressing the workshop, Minister Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy stated that the Chandrababu Naidu-led government is making concerted efforts to advance the State under the ‘Swarndra@2047 AP Vision’.
The Minister clarified that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu aims to steer the State towards progress, tackle unemployment, and improve the living standards and per capita income of the people.
He highlighted ongoing initiatives to boost agriculture and its allied sectors, noting that Anantapur district, previously known for drought, has transformed into a horticulture hub due to measures taken by the then TDP government between 2014 and 2019.
“The coalition government in AP has set a target of generating 20 lakh jobs over the next five years and is working diligently towards this goal. Initiatives for skill development among youth are underway, including a skill census to assess their abilities and provide necessary technical training for job opportunities,” the Minister observed.
He added that the government plans to promote the granite and pharmaceutical sectors in the Prakasam district, alongside efforts to advance agriculture and its allied sectors.
“The government is fully focused on completing the Veligonda project expeditiously. Measures are being taken to construct check dams for effective water management in the district. Additionally, required infrastructure will be provided to the Markapuram Medical College, which will be inaugurated soon,” Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said. He also mentioned efforts to develop Donakonda as an industrial centre and resolve land acquisition issues for various projects.
MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy announced his appointment as Chairman of the Central Housing and Urban Development Parliament Committee on the recommendation of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He stated that the Committee oversees the implementation of the Amrit and Swachh Bharat programmes and expressed his commitment to supporting the development of the Prakasam district. He urged officials to formulate a proper plan for utilising CSR funds.
Collector A. Thameem Ansariya indicated that the Swarnandhra@2040 Vision document is being developed and that the workshop aims to train officials. MLAs Damacharla Janardhan, M. Ashok Reddy, Kandula Narayana Reddy, and Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy also spoke. Officials from agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, irrigation, and rural water supply presented a PowerPoint on the vision document.
