State Excise and Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao emphasised the government’s commitment to providing irrigation water to every acre, as directed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. During a review meeting with irrigation officials at Kollapur, the minister urged the rapid completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy project and Mahatma Gandhi Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation (KLI) scheme to ensure water supply for the Kharif season.
The Minister inspected the project work at Narlapur and stressed the importance of efficient project management to avoid delays. He directed engineering officials to prepare detailed reports on canal maintenance, desilting, and the removal of weeds. Farmers were encouraged to cooperate with field channel maintenance, and actions were to be taken against those obstructing feeder canals.
Additionally, a feasibility study for the Bacharam canal was ordered for the Jildhar Tippa project.
He also instructed officials to expedite the construction of pump houses under the Mission Bhagiratha and to utilise Krishna river water fully. He reviewed the progress of control rooms and issued directives to complete Narlapur works promptly. Moreover, Minister Rao highlighted the need for basic facilities in resettlement villages affected by the project, including Bodabanda, Sunnapu Tanda, Anjana Giri Tanda, Odde Gudisela, and Dulyanayak Tanda.
The review included discussions on proposals for road constructions from Ellur to Narlapur and from Ellur to Mol Chintalapalli. The Minister instructed the preparation of proposals and the swift completion of road construction works. CE Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, SE Satyanarayana Reddy, EEs Srinivas Reddy, Ravinder, Murali, Srikant, and Parthasaradhi were among the officials present.
