The BRS government seems to be focusing on the development of temples in the election year as is evident from the series of announcements on renovation projects.Recently, Rs 100 crore was allotted for the development of the Anjayneya Swamy Devasthanam in Kondagattu. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to visit Kondagattu on February 14.
Renowned architect Anand Sai is visiting Kondagattu on Sunday to prepare a master plan for the development of the temple in Karimnagar. On Saturday, State Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that as per the promise given by KCR, the expansion and development of the Lal Darwaza Ammavaru Temple in the Old City will be started soon.
He said that KCR had promised to develop and expand the temple when he came for the darshan of Ammavari.According to this assurance, 1100 yards of land required for the expansion of the temple has been identified. The government will give Rs 8.95 crore as compensation to those who are handing over land for the development of the Lal Darwaza Temple.
Earlier, this week, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao held a high-level review meeting in Hyderabad on arrangements for Maha Shivaratri celebrations in Vemulawada on February 7 and also reviewed the status of development works in the town.
Announcing that additional funds would be allocated for Vemulawada Jathara, KTR said that the Vemulawada Temple lake bund, the tallest Lord Shiva statue in Ramappa Gutta in Sircilla suburbs, Cottages and adventure games at Ramappa Gutta will be taken up.
Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud launched development projects around the Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Temple at Manyamkonda to make it an attractive destination. It is going to become the first temple in Telangana to be equipped with a ropeway service costing Rs 20 crore.
