Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, expressed her concern and frustration regarding her husband’s imprisonment. She raised questions about the reasons behind his confinement and passionately defended his dedication to the welfare and freedom of the people of the State.
Accompanied by her son, Nara Lokesh, and his wife, Brahmani, Bhuvaneswari met Naidu during a ‘mulaqat’ session here on Tuesday. Speaking to the media outside the jail, she conveyed Naidu’s commitment to the State’s development, emphasising that even behind bars, his focus remained on the progress of Andhra Pradesh.
Bhuvaneswari issued a call to the citizens, urging them to unite in the fight for their rights. She highlighted her husband’s tireless efforts for the betterment of the underprivileged and stressed that he never prioritised his own family’s interests. Bhuvaneswari lamented the alleged misuse of political power, claiming that false charges had led to Naidu’s incarceration under the YSRCP Government.
Emotions welled up as she revealed that Naidu was now confined to a barrack that he had overseen the construction of during his tenure as Chief Minister. She expressed her family’s difficulty in coming to terms with this situation.
In her view, the state government had imprisoned him solely because he continued to advocate for the rights of the people.
Bhuvaneswari voiced her concerns about the inadequate facilities and the safety and security of her husband within the jail. She recalled the family’s longstanding avoidance of government offices, even during Naidu’s tenure as Chief Minister, making the painful visits to the jail even more distressing.
The visit to the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail was a poignant reminder of the human aspect behind political turmoil, as a devoted wife pleaded for justice and fairness in her husband’s case.
