Despite working hard through all six seasons to cultivate crops, unseasonal rains, accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms have shattered the hopes of farmers at the time when their crops were ready for harvest.
In the new Kotakota mandal under Wanaparthy district, crops were damaged extensively. The crops like mango and paddy were severely damaged by the hailstorm. In the district, around 30 acres of mango orchards were completely damaged, with the fruits falling from trees. In Sankireddipalli, approximately 300 acres of paddy crops were destroyed.
At present, the paddy crop was ready for harvest was damaged. As a result, the farmers, who were expecting their harvest soon, were left with nothing but disappointment due to the hailstorm. Farmers are worried about how to recover the investment.
