Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sanghala Samanvaya Samiti convener and former minister Vadde Shobhanadreeswara Rao has said that a tractor rally will be organised in all district headquarters on January 26 demanding introduction of the Minimum Support Price Guarantee Act and withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill-2020. He appealed to the farmers to participate in the rally and make it a grand success.
The Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sanghala Samanvaya Samiti organised a meeting of farmers’ associations and people’s associations at the Press Club at Gandhinagar in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Vadde said that the Central government did not fulfilled the assurances which were given at the time of farmers’ agitation at the national capital. The Kisan Morcha Joint Action Committee at the national level has given a call to organise a tractor rally in all district headquarters on Republic Day, he said.
He said that the Central government had waived off corporate company’s debts of around Rs.10 lakh crore since 2014. The Centre had promised, as per the Swaminathan’s Committee recommendation, to use the C2+50 per cent formula to implement the Minimum Support Price Guarantee Act, but it has failed to do so. The government should take fulfil all the promises, he demanded. All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) president Ravula Venkaiah demanded that the Central government pay compensation to the kin of all 750 farmers who died during the farmers’ agitation in New Delhi. Also, he wanted the Centre to withdraw all 80,000 police cases registered against farmers, and construct a monument to mark the peasant movement at the Singh border.
Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham general secretary KVV Prasad demanded total loan redemption like the Kerala government did. Also, the Centre should withdraw the Electricity Amendment Bill, 2020, he said.
Andhra Pradesh Water Users Associations’ Federation president Alla Venkata Gopala Krishna Rao said that as per the Andhra Pradesh State Bifurcation Act – 2014, the Krishna River Management Board should be established in Vijayawada. AP Rythu Sangham president Y Kesava Rao demanded rectification of the mistakes in the Samagra Bhu Survey and distribution of pass books to the farmers.
