Fight over Bhubharati and Dharani rocks Assembly

Must read

The Assembly witnessed a fight between the Bhubharati and Dharani portals on Wednesday. The allegations and counter allegations made by Members of the ruling party and the opposition about Bhubharati and Dharani rocked the Assembly.
Intervening while BRS Member Palla Rajeshwar Reddy was speaking, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said there is now clarity on why the BRS government introduced the Dharani portal during the Assembly elections.
Ponguleti said that Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is trying to hide the irregularities and injustice behind Dharani.
“We will go to the people during the next elections with Bhubharati. Will the BRS face the elections with Dharani on its agenda? The people defeated the BRS and made it sit in the opposition. The voters clearly said that they don’t want Dharani. They made it clear that the BRS government had erred by introducing Dharani. Everybody knows how the BRS government behaved towards VROs and VRAs. It is ridiculous for BRS Members to speak about the future of VROs and VRAs. People are asking for VRAs. So we are restoring the VRA system. The Congress government will give special attention to VRAs and VROs,” Ponguleti said.
Earlier, while speaking on the demands for grants for the Revenue Department, BRS Member Palla Rajeshwar Reddy
said the Congress government scrapped Dharani due to minor reasons.
“I don’t know why this government is restoring the VROs and VRAs system. Why is this government going to take up Jamabandi? There is no need for Jamabandi as the KCR government supplied water to lands all over the state. There is no need for the Kabja (possession) column, but this government is again introducing the Kabja column. The Congress government introduced Bhubharati to do Bhu Harathi,” Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said.
He also said that the BRS would approach the public during the next election with Dharani on its agenda.
Intervening in the debate, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress Government had assured the public that it would throw Dharani into the Bay of Bengal and did it after coming to power.
He said that Jamabandi is useful to the people. The BRS government scrapped Jamabandi to grab lands, Bhatti added.
