First batch of 175 Haj pilgrims reach Gannavaram airport

The first batch of 175 Haj pilgrims who have completed their 41 days pilgrimage successfully came back on Monday evening. The pilgrims return by a direct Flight number SG 5017 from the Holy City of Madina and arrive at Vijayawada International Airport in Gannavaram at 8 PM.

On behalf of the State government, the pilgrims were welcomed by Deputy Chief Minister Amjad Basha, MLC Rahulla and members of the Haj committee at the airport. Arrangements were made for the Haj pilgrims to reach their homes, buses were arranged at the airport to reach the pilgrims to APSRTC bus station and Railway stations.

On the arrival the pilgrims expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for making their dream of visiting the holy place Mecca come true and also the government bearing Rs 80,000 additional cost for the pilgrims to board direct flight from Gannavaram airport.

The pilgrims said that they remembered CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in their prayers and also prayed for the prosperity of the state. More good will be showered on the state of Andhra Pradesh in days to come, they said.
