Charles Schwab, a global leader in financial services, has chosen Hyderabad to locate its first Technology Development Centre in India. This decision comes after discussions between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, IT Minister Sridhar Babu Duddhilla and senior Schwab executives, Dennis Howard, Rama Bokka and others at the Charles Schwab’s headquarters in Dallas on August 7. Revanth Reddy and Sridhar assured Schwab executives full support and guidance through necessary formalities to establish their presence in Hyderabad. They emphasised swift access to talent in the region which will facilitate a rapid ramp-up of the centre. Schwab’s executives expressed confidence about the collaboration, praising the proactive support from the Telangana government. They see this as a promising indicator of a successful partnership. Charles Schwab is currently awaiting final approvals before announcing detailed plans for the centre and delegating a team to India for its official establishment.
