Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, accusing him of deceiving farmers and evading accountability on key promises.
Daring KCR again, he challenged, “If you have confidence in your leadership, come to the Assembly and debate with us. Forget about striking hard, first, learn how to stand firm.”
Addressing a gathering, Revanth said that KCR used Assembly elections as an excuse to delay the disbursement of Rythu Bandhu funds. In contrast, he stated that his government, upon assuming office, immediately deposited pending Rythu Bharosa funds in farmers’ accounts.
Criticising KCR’s loan waiver, the CM pointed out that from 2014 to December 2023, KCR had waived only loans amounting to only Rs 18,000 crore of which only a mere Rs 3,000 crore was effectively waived. “But in just one year, our government has waived farm loans amounting to Rs 21,000 crore,” he asserted.
Responding to KCR’s allegations that the Congress Government had not fulfilled its promise, he replied, “Farmhouse visitors who parrot KCR’s words don’t deserve a response. Let him come to the Assembly, and we will present the list of farmers who benefited from our loan waivers.”
Revanth also announced that the Assembly would hold discussions on the BC caste census and categorization of Madigas in the first week of February. “Stop your empty threats. If you have the guts, come to the Assembly and talk,” he said.
concluded by stating that KCR, now confined to his farmhouse, had lost touch with the people. “KCR is like an expired Rs 1,000 note – outdated and worthless. If you can’t bring yourself to acknowledge our government’s achievements, stay in your farmhouse,” he said.
Revanth dared KCR to participate in a discussion in the Assembly if he had bonafide intentions. “Unlike you, I don’t have a history of duping people with false promises,” he said.
Taking a dig at KCR’s demeanour, he said, “He claims to be watching us keenly. Who exactly is he looking at? Instead of posturing, control your son and nephew who are wreaking havoc in public.”
Mocking KCR’s social media presence, he said, “He brags about getting more on X. Imagine a former Chief Minister of 10 years celebrating social media likes! That tells you everything about his mental state. When an online poll was conducted between Rakhi Sawant and Salman Khan, Rakhi got more likes, does that mean she is a better actor than Salman?”
He asked KCR to focus on setting his son and nephew on the right path before questioning others.
He also accused KCR of deceiving devotees by failing to release the promised funds for Jahangir Peer Dargah and Vemulawada Rajanna Temple. “You abandoned Palamuru, leaving it dry, and now dare to question us,” he added.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to farmers, he announced that Rs 10,000 crore would be disbursed under Rythu Bharosa by March 31.
He also highlighted the Indiramma Aatmeeya Bharosa scheme, which provides Rs 12,000 per year to landless agricultural labourer families.
Listing the Congress Government’s achievements, Revanth said that 55,142 government posts had been filled in the first year itself.
