Training over 100 women for modern vegetable farming, The FLO Hyderabad Centre of Excellence for Training Women in Modern Vegetable Farming, hosted a crop showcase at Ravalkore Village, near Medchal on Saturday.
This initiative, launched in May this year, involves women from 16 villages in cultivating 50 hybrid vegetable varieties. It focuses on empowering women with advanced farming skills, business strategies, and digital and financial literacy.
Women demonstrated their learning outcomes during the showcase, presenting crops such as bottle gourd, sweet corn, marigolds, and more. The event emphasised how the project builds economic independence and sustainability in rural communities.
The initiative is collaboration between FLO Hyderabad Chapter and the East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation.
On this occasion, The Chairperson of FLO Hyderabad, Priya Gazdar highlighted the project’s community-transforming potential, emphasising skills, confidence, and economic growth. Meanwhile, East-West Seed India’s GC Shivakumar appreciated the commitment to improving women’s livelihoods.
The initiative aims to create a sustainable cycle of learning, earning, and teaching, enabling women to lead in agriculture and uplift their communities.
The showcase was also attended by Agripreneur Eatala Kshamita Reddy and other senior FLO members.
