SHIVAN & NARRESH Unveils Couture Series III with a floral symphony Following the immense success of Couture Series II, SHIVAN & NARRESH unveils its latest masterpiece, Couture Series III: Florists at Work.
The collection is a testament to the brand’s dedication to pushing boundaries of stereotypical fashion codes and designers’ passion for flowers & botanicals. The show was held in a theatrical setting with three magnanimous hanging floral installations being worked upon live by Shivan as models paraded the runway in couture.
Since its inception, the brand has drawn inspiration from the intricate details and vibrant colours of the natural world, particularly the enchanting realm of flowers. Their childhood obsessions with the beauty of petals and blooms have evolved into a meticulous design journey, with each piece in this collection serving as a canvas of nature’s artistry. From the meticulously handcrafted & embroidered details on a variety of silhouettes for women & men, to the customised knits that defined couture at the textile level, the show aimed to redefine couture with a global aesthetic. Segregated into defined floral colour stories of ivory, vermillion, powder blue, champagne & black, the essence of Couture Series III: Florists at Work is focussed on textures & surfaces.
Couture, in the world of SHIVAN & NARRESH, transcends mere clothing with not just meticulous attention to detail but also an abstract explosion of colour and creativity, becoming the heart and soul of this collection. Each ensemble is a harmonious union of captivating aroma and vibrant hues of flowers, resulting in 50 unique masterpieces that embody the diverse and magnificent world of florals.
The collection features textures crafted in metallic & glass beads in unique motifs & patterns overlaid with laces & thread work to create complexity, with silhouettes that range from gowns & dresses to fish cut skirts & sheer lehengas with signature micro-blouses. Drawing the love for knits, the collection featured one-of-a-kind knitted patterns that lead couture to textiles, translated in western silhouettes & co-ord sets for women & men with showers of beadwork.
The menswear is dominated with kurtas, bandhgalas & co-ord sets featuring the collection’s surface & textile details for a striking effect. Each runway look is complemented by exquisite, modernist jewel pieces with superior craftsmanship, featuring delicate rose-cut diamonds and emeralds from 64 Facets, Jaipur.
The Florists at Work showcase was welcomed with the enchanting world of Glenmorangie Single Malt Whisky, where guests were offered an exclusive preview of their latest limited edition luxury drop A Tale of the Forest.Lush and deliciously herbaceous, Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is the brand’s first whisky ever crafted from barley kilned with woodland botanicals. As one entered, they were transported into a lush, wooded wonderland, where the air was alive with the scent of pine and earthy elegance.
