Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha emphasised that fast and efficient judicial processes are the key to ensuring justice for ordinary victims. She assured that the government would prioritise the necessary arrangements for the police, prisons, and judiciary to function effectively, with special attention to resolving pending cases.
On Thursday, at a review meeting in the conference hall of the State Secretariat, Home Minister Anitha, alongside Law Minister NMD Farooq, discussed the performance, cases, and progress of Fast Track and Special Courts. They also highlighted the need to strengthen the judicial system, including special courts for women, POCSO cases, and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The Home Minister assured that the government would address vacancies in the police, jail, and judicial systems by bringing the issue to the attention of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. She also pledged that the coalition government would provide justice to those who had suffered from wrongful cases or harassment under the previous regime. Anitha stressed that under the coalition government, everyone would have equal access to justice, and the process would be efficient, cost-effective, and swift for victims.
In light of an impending depression, Home Minister Anitha conducted a review meeting with Disaster Management MD K. Kurmanath. With moderate to heavy rains expected in North Andhra on Saturday, district officials have been alerted to remain vigilant. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms in Rayalaseema, and the Disaster Management Department has been directed to issue timely warnings to the public. The Home Minister urged authorities to keep the public informed and prepared for the weather conditions, advising them to stay alert.
