Farmers skewer Revanth

Farmer after farmer on Monday denounced Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy’s statement on free power to the farm sector. They challenged him to prove that water can be supplied to one acre in one hour.
They were speaking at the farmers’ protest meeting held at Rytu Vedika at Velpur under the Balkonda Assembly constituency of the district on Monday.
Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashant Reddy took part in the protest.
Sharing their views on the lack of power supply in undivided Andhra Pradesh, Velpur farmer Chinna Reddy expressed the opinion that Revanth Reddy should be slapped for his remarks.
Another farmer Satya Gangaiah, irrigating one acre in one hour is not possible. The Congress used to provide power supply to the farm sector for two hours in the morning, two hours in the afternoon and two hours at night. The crops used to wither away.
Another farmer Neerati Rajesam asked Revanth Reddy to send a worker who would be able to irrigate one acre in an hour so that he would be able to employ him.
Ramannapeta farmer Sankar Goud asked Revanth Reddy to practically demonstrate how to irrigate one acre of land in one hour.
Warangal farmer Goli Vasant recalled how the farmers suffered during the Congress regime for want of food and sleep. Now farmers can have two square meals a day.
The Minister played a video containing the remarks of Revanth Reddy to the farmers.
Addressing the farmers, the Minister said that Revanth’s remarks showcased the arrogance of the Congress. He asked the farmers to notice how the Congress leader is spewing venom.
Prashanth Reddy recalled how the BRS government improved its power position from 4,500 MW to 18,000 MW and accused Congress of not laying power lines during the past 60 years.
He asked the farmers not to trust the Congress and BJP.
Denying the allegations levelled against him Nizamabad MP of BJP Aravind, the minister clarified that of the Rs 300 crore released by the Centre under the Central Finance Assistance, Rs 70 crore had been allocated to the development of roads and bridges in Balkonda. He dared the BJP MP to institute a CBI probe against him.
BRS farmers’ leader Kotapati Narasimha Naidu, several people’s representatives, Rytu Bandhu Samiti members, farmers, BRS activists and others were present.
