Minister for Water Resources Development, Nimmala Ramanaidu, flagged off a vehicle donated by the Dharma Rao Foundation, aimed at providing free transportation to the residents of the TIDCO colony in Palakollu on Sunday.
The Dharma Rao Foundation contributed a vehicle worth Rs 8 lakh to help the colony’s residents commute without cost. Speaking at the event, Minister Ramanaidu highlighted that TIDCO residents often need to travel to places like Gandhi Statue Centre, RTC bus stand, and the railway station, typically incurring around Rs 200 per trip—an amount many middle-class and poor residents struggle to afford.
Acknowledging this need, the Dharma Rao Foundation stepped forward to offer a dedicated vehicle for free transportation, available for the colony’s residents from morning to evening. The Minister further assured that pending TIDCO housing works would soon be completed, and the homes would be handed over to beneficiaries.
Both Minister Ramanaidu and the colony residents expressed gratitude to the Dharma Rao Foundation for their generous donation. Leaders from BJP, Janasena, and TDP were also present at the event._
