Must read

The Congress government has now decided to present Gaddar Film Awards from Ugadi and support theatre artistes, said Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu. He  attended the Bhakta Ramadas Jayanthi celebrations organised by the Telangana Sangeetha Nataka Academy at the LB Stadium Indoor Stadium on Sunday, along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka. He lit the lamp to mark the inauguration.
On this occasion, Bhatti Vikramarka said that the government supports fine arts and provides necessary facilities for artistes. He felicitated classical musicians and announced that the State government will now organise Bhakta Ramadas Jayanthi annually, similar to Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavalu in Thiruvaiyaru.
He expressed pride in representing the district where Bhakta Ramadas was born. Recalling history, Bhatti said Ramadas, a Tahsildar under the Tanisha rule, used tax money to renovate Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam, which led to his imprisonment. Despite being tortured, Ramadas remained devoted and composed timeless Keertans.
Bhatti Vikramarka also urged musicians to draw inspiration from Ramadas and promote devotional music. He noted that film artistes were ignored for 10 years, and the previous government neglected Nandi Awards.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured full government support for artistes and announced state-wide drama competitions, with awards for the best performers.
He conveyed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s commitment to encouraging artistic talent.
