Gaddi galata Senior leaders’ efforts go in vain

Must read

Once again, senior Congress leaders’ all-out efforts to grab the Chief Minister position went in vain with all their credentials.
Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramakra, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodara Raja Narsimha and certain others made efforts to project themselves as the ideal CM pick. But their efforts went in vain with the party high command zeroing in on TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for the top post.
Uttam Kumar Reddy in particular put in tremendous efforts until the last minute. He pointed out that, as a senior Congress leader he had all the qualifications to become the CM. Uttam conceded that it was not wrong for the high command to
pick the CM candidate from among four or five contenders in the
race.
However, Uttam said that he would abide by the decision of the high command and would not divulge internal matters of the party.
In wry humour, senior leader D Sridhar Babu stated that all 64 Congress MLAs were contenders for the CM post and he was just one of them.

Two other senior leaders, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Damodara Rajanarsimha, also put in their efforts to get the CM position but did not speak openly on the CM post issue when matters came to a head. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, having burnt his fingers in trying to get TPCC chief position, tried somewhat softly for the CM post without much hopes.
Uttam and Bhatti, who went to Delhi on Tuesday morning, had meetings with top Congress leaders like AICC general secretary KC Venugopal. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiva Kumar and Telangana Congress in-charge Manik Rao Thackre.
