Shankar’s highly anticipated political thriller, Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, has been generating significant buzz since its announcement. Initially slated for a Dussehra release, the film’s release has been postponed. This news was confirmed by producer Dil Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations during a recent event.
Dil Raju made the announcement at the pre-release event for Dhanush’s Raayan in Hyderabad, where he was a guest. Amidst the audience’s enthusiastic chants of Game Changer, Dil Raju responded with a smile, saying, “Game Changer? Let’s meet during Christmas.”
While it was previously reported that Ram Charan had completed shooting for Game Changer in July, it has now been revealed that filming is not yet fully finished. Some segments of the film remain incomplete. The delay is attributed to Shankar’s focus on the post-production of Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan. The director is expected to complete the remaining shoots within a few weeks.
Game Changer boasts a screenplay crafted by Shankar, Vivek Velmurugan and Sai Madhav Burra, with a story penned by Karthik Subbaraj. In the film, Ram Charan plays an IAS officer who ascends to the role of chief minister and is reportedly seen in triple roles.
The cast includes Jayaram, Srikanth, Sunil, SJ Suryah, Anjali, Samuthirakani and Nassar alongside Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. The film features music by S. Thaman, cinematography by Tirru and editing by Shameer Muhammed.
Game Changer will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, though the official release date is still to be announced.
