‘Ghantasala’s music transcends generations,’ says Venkaiah Naidu

The legacy of the immortal singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao comes alive in the upcoming biographical film Ghantasala the Great. Featuring Krishna Chaitanya in the titular role and his wife Mridula as Ghantasala’s spouse Savitri, the movie is a tribute to one of Telugu cinema’s most revered figures. Directed by CH Rama Rao and produced by CH Srimati Phani under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, the film is set to release on February 14.
The release date poster was released at a special event at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad, graced by former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Personalities, including R Narayanamurthy, music director Madhavpeddi Suresh, producer Ashok Kumar and actress Jayavani, were also present to celebrate the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Venkaiah Naidu emphasised the cultural importance of the film, calling it a responsibility for the Telugu audience to honor the legacy of Ghantasala by watching it.
“Ghantasala’s music transcends generations. His life as a freedom fighter, public performer and an extraordinary music director is an inspiration,” he said. He commended the team for their dedication to presenting Ghantasala’s comprehensive life story, highlighting his contributions as a singer of the Bhagavad Gita and a beacon of humility and talent.

The movie also stars Suman, Subbaraya Sharma, Master Dixitulu and Master Atulith in pivotal roles. Edited by Kranti (KR) and featuring cinematography by Venu Muralidhar V, the film’s music has been composed by Vasu Rao Saluri.
