With the Telangana Assembly polls due this year, the Election Commission of India has appointed GHMC Commissioner D S Lokesh Kumar as Additional Chief Electoral Officer and another senior officer Sarfaraz Ahmad as joint chief electoral officer.
As per the letter by Principal Secretary Rahul Sharma to Telangana CS, “I am directed to refer to the letter No. 1153/Spl.A/A1/2022-1 and 1153/Spl.A/A1/2022-2 both dated 26.06.2023 on the subject cited above and to say that the Commission has approved the following: Appointment of Sh. Lokesh Kumar D.S, IAS (RR:2003) to the post of Addl. Chief Electoral Officer Telangana. Appointment of Sh. Sarfaraz Ahmad, IAS (RR:2009) to the post of Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana in place of Sh. T Ravi Kiran, IFS.”
