In a heinous crime, a minor girl was gang-raped. Shockingly, her cousin brother is one of the accused.
Police said that the victim is a student of ZP High School at Mandavalli village and her parents are eking out livelihood as daily wage labourers. The victim’s paternal aunt lives at Mandavalli near the Social Welfare hostel where the minor girl was staying.
The son of the victim’s paternal aunt used to take the girl to his house and offer snacks. During one of her visits, he raped the girl. A few days later, he brought his friends, including a minor boy, and all of them gang-raped the minor girl. They repeatedly raped the gil for a couple of months.
However, the girl was scared to tell her parents about her hellish experience as the gang threatened to kill her.
When the elder brother of the victim went to her hostel, she refused to go with him. Subsequently, the hostel staff spoke to the girl personally, and she disclosed the barbaric act which the gang committed on her including her cousin brother.
The hostel staff informed the matter to the parents of the girl who lodged a complaint with the police. The police arrested two persons including the minor boy. However, the main accused, the cousin brother of the victim, is absconding. The incident took place two months ago but came to light only on Friday.
The police on Saturday said that cases under various sections including POCSO Act were registered against the accused. A police team, led by CI Naidu, under the supervision of DSP NAP Srinivasulu, began investigating the case.
Leaders of the women’s associations demanded that the accused be punished stringently.
