Munnuru Kapu leaders passed a resolution demanding that the Congress Government should give a Minister post to Government Whip Adi Srinivas. They also appealed to the Congress to give priority to Munnuru Kapus in nominated posts. The Munnuru Kapu leaders said that there was no Cabinet without a Munnuru Kapu since Independence. However, the Congress Government’s Cabinet has no Munnuru Kapu individual. The leaders demanded that the government should give a Minister post to a Munnuru Kapu at any cost.
The Munnuru Kapu leaders said the Congress would have to rethink the suspension of MLC Theenmar Mallanna. They said that there is a need to work together to neutralise the political conspiracies against Munnuru Kapus.
Munnuru Kapu leaders from various political parties had a meeting with senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Saturday. The leaders who attended the meeting were K. Keshava Rao, V. Hanumantha Rao, Adi Srinivas, Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Gangula Kamalakar, Nethi Vidyasagar and some others.
The leaders said that there are many doubts about the caste census as the Munnuru Kapu percentage was shown less. The meeting demanded that the government should display details of the caste census.
The meeting decided to conduct a sample survey in Kodad and in some other places and the same will be sent to the government. It also asked the government to set up a Munnuru Kapu Corporation instead of a Cooperative Society and to appoint a chairman.
It also decided to provide 20,000 jobs to the community’s youth through the Munnuru Kapu Corporation. The meeting demanded the government should increase funds to construct a building on the government-allotted five acres in Kokapet.
The meeting also decided to organise a huge public meeting and to be united irrespective of political affiliations.
