Addressing the media, Sridhar Babu stated that the government’s intention, conviction and commitment are clear in delivering on promises. He focused on the commitment for the State’s growth, tracing back Telangana’s IT journey from the establishment of the first software park in 1992. He noted the State’s resilience, with continued policy support driving the IT sector’s success, despite changing governments.
Sridhar babu expressed optimism about the IT sector’s growth, noting that despite three decades of change, the industry has consistently advanced, especially between 2004 and 2014, thereafter rapidly till 2023. The Minister also mentioned that during the recent US visit, the administration has successfully convinced some to establish resource centres for the defence sector.
Minister Sridhar Babu emphasised the rapid changes in technology, particularly with disruptive technologies like AI. Telangana is currently ranked No. 2 in software exports, saying that this is an opportunity to further advance with plans for AI City in Mucherla, where 200 acres has been sanctioned. Collaboration with IIT Hyderabad, a Skill University is planned to upskill workers and reduce job loss fears, as it is real in today’s AI world.
Sridhar Babu concluded that the upcoming Global AI Summit, with over 2,000 registrants, aims to raise awareness and promote AI adoption. He mentioned that a clearer picture of the AI City plans will emerge in October.
