Many leading global universities have come to the city offering spot admissions and scholarships to students. The city has become a magnet for international institutions seeking to attract talented minds from India, particularly as Chinese students have reduced their studies abroad. An official from Global Tree Overseas, Shubhakar, said that they are hosting 10 to 12 universities every month. This influx coincides with the much-anticipated spring intake, a time when students eagerly seek admissions and visas to begin their international educational journey.
Although the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted this flow, a remarkable resurgence is now underway as universities try to reconnect with Indian students.
One of the significant drivers of this trend is the changing preference of Chinese students. Earlier, Chinese students accounted for a substantial portion of international applicants to universities across the globe. However, of late many Chinese students are now opting to explore educational opportunities in their own country. This has opened doors for Indian students to top-notch global universities.
During university interactions, representatives provide valuable insights into academic programmes, tuition fees and campus life, helping students make decisions.
Moreover, spot admissions are granted to students who have the necessary qualifications. An education fair in the first week of August is expected to host 50 universities keen to offer spot admissions to students.
Among the institutions extending attractive opportunities to Indian students are the St Francis College of New York, which recently announced scholarships of up to USD 8,400 for students from Hyderabad.
University Hub, an organisation that supported around 1,00,000 students to realise their American academic dreams, is collaborating with 15 universities for a study abroad fair.
Anderson University is conducting a special admission drive in Hyderabad to offer spot admissions to eligible students.
Dr Evans Whitaker, the President of Anderson University, emphasized the significance of applying to their institution, highlighting the value of their MS in Business Analytics, which equips students with crucial data-driven decision-making skills.
Cumberland University, which is no stranger to attracting global students, conducted spot admissions on July 19.
The Golden Gate University has opened its gates, offering spot admissions and scholarships to students from various academic streams, including Management, IT and Engineering.
Dr David Fike, the President of Golden Gate University, encouraged students to engage with university representatives, complete applications and obtain the required I-20 documents.
With a focus on business, IT and related fields, Golden Gate University boasts strong industry connections and a vibrant city environment in downtown San Francisco, making it an appealing choice for aspiring professionals seeking flexible learning options.
