The Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, Dr Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, inaugurated the release of Godavari waters from the Mulugu Pump House to the Jangalapally Banjaru Cheruvu on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, she stressed the government’s commitment to making Mulugu fertile through the equitable distribution of Godavari waters.
Sitaakka criticised the negligence of the BJP Government saying that it deprived Mulugu of its rightful share of water while diverting water to Siddipet and Sircilla.
“Our government is determined to correct this imbalance. Soon, Godavari waters from the Mulugu Pump House will be supplied to Kotaguda and Gangaram mandals, bringing relief to the region’s farmers. Additionally, water will be pumped to Laknavaram via Kashimdevipet through canals,” she said.
Reiterating the government’s vision, she stated, “We aim to make farmers kings.
Providing them with ample water is central to our governance model.”
The function was attended by Mulugu DCC President Paidakula Ashok, Mulugu District Library Chairman Banoth Ravi Chander, officials, Congress leaders, local representatives and farmers.
The release of Godavari waters marks a significant step towards addressing the irrigation needs of Mulugu and supporting the region’s agrarian community.
