Chief Minister Revanth Reddy felicitated young cricketer Gongadi Trisha with a Rs 1 crore cash award for her outstanding performance in the Indian U-19 Women’s ICC Cricket World Cup victory.
Recognizing her pivotal role in the tournament, where she scored 309 runs, took seven wickets, and secured the Player of the Tournament and Player of the Match awards in the final against South Africa, the Telangana government acknowledged her sporting excellence with the incentive.
In addition to Trisha, Druthi Kesari (cricketer), Nousheen (head coach), and Shalini (trainer/physio) were each awarded Rs 10 lakh for their contributions.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Adviser Vem Narender Reddy, Sports Chairman Shiva Sena Reddy, CM’s Secretary Shahnawaz Qasim, and Sports MD Soni Bala Devi and other dignitaries.
The Telangana government reiterated its commitment to promoting sports and encouraging young talent, emphasizing that the recognition of Indian athletes on the global stage would continue under its policies.
