Govt advisors taking fat salaries only to criticise Opposition: Manohar

Chairman of the Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee, Nadela Manohar, has raised concerns about the alleged misuse of public funds within the government.
In a press conference held at the state office in Mangalagiri on Saturday, Manohar claimed that government advisors are receiving a hefty salary of Rs 2 lakh solely for criticising opposition leaders.
Expressing his discontent, Manohar highlighted the stark contrast between the basic salary of a Cabinet Minister, which stands at Rs 14,000, and the average monthly earnings of a Communication Advisor responsible for drafting the Chief Minister’s speeches.
According to him, the government advisors’ salaries rival those of high court judges, a situation he deemed wasteful of public resources.
Manohar also criticised the government for granting ‘Cabinet’ rank to one of the advisors and issuing a Government Order (GO) to that effect. The advisor, he noted, received Rs 26 lakh in arrears. Additionally, Manohar pointed out that the government is covering office maintenance and computer staff salaries for these advisors, with funds being disbursed from the Skill Development Corporation.
In response to opposition parties questioning the government’s actions, Manohar singled out the Sakshi media for their bias. He claimed that when opposition parties raised concerns, Sakshi media downplayed the issue.
He cited Sakshi media’s revelation of a Rs 29.61 crore allocation for advisor expenditures, while the YSRCP social media disclosed a higher figure of Rs 40.33 crore annually.
Manohar further underscored that the High Court, represented by Justices PK Mishra and Somayajulu, criticised the government for appointing a large number of advisors. The court cautioned that such appointments could be detrimental to the functioning of the system.
