The Telangana Government on Sunday appointed the Special Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, K. Ramakrishna Rao, IAS (1991), as the Chief Secretary of Telangana in place of A. Santhi Kumari, IAS (1989), who is retiring on April 30, 2025.
As per the seniority list, six officials, including Ramakrishna Rao, were in the race for the Chief Secretary post. However, the government selected Ramakrishna Rao as the CS, considering his efficiency and experience. Ramakrishna Rao has been working in the Finance Department since 2014.
Ramakrishna Rao played a key role in taking decisions regarding finances and seeking funds from the Centre. The government issued orders appointing K. Ramakrishna Rao as the CS in view of the present financial conditions and other factors.
