The Telangana government has initiated the process for the construction and installation of a bronze statue of former Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah at Lakdi-ka-Pul, Hyderabad. Sealed quotations have been invited from various agencies for the execution of multiple works related to the project.

As per the tender document, the statue will be a 9-feet tall bronze structure weighing approximately 450 kilograms, composed of 82% copper, 5% tin, 10% zinc, and 3% lead. It will be crafted with a thickness of 6mm to 8mm and will include base plates, foundation bolts, transportation, polishing, and all associated labour and incidental charges. The finished item is to be completed as per instructions from the Engineer in charge.

In addition to the statue, the scope of work includes consultancy and architectural services for preparing concept drawings, design, and beautification plans. The work package also covers a stainless steel inauguration plaque with inscriptions, Bangalore stone slabs (Rudraram) for the pedestal, and high-quality white cloth to drape the statue before the formal unveiling.

For the installation process, authorities have called for crane services of 30-ton and 16-ton capacities to safely erect and position the statue. All charges—hire, fuel, operational and labour—are to be included in the quotation.

The tender clearly states that all quotations must include prices along with applicable GST for each item listed.

The decision to honour Rosaiah, who served as Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Governor of Tamil Nadu, was taken earlier this year. The memorial is expected to become a landmark tribute in the heart of the city.
