Minister for Social Welfare Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy has reiterated that the government is committed to fulfilling all the assurances which have been given to the people by Chandrababu Naidu.
The Minister participated in the disbursement of social security pensions on Thursday at Pakala village in Singarayakonda mandal.
He handed over the pension amount to some of the beneficiaries by going to their houses.
Addressing a meeting organised on the occasion, Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said that as per the assurances given by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu before the elections, the social security pension was enhanced to Rs 4,000 from Rs 3000. On July 1, Rs7000 was disbursed to the beneficiaries, adding the previous month’s dues also. The beneficiaries were very happy with the disbursement of enhanced pensions, he claimed.
“When NT Rama Rao was the Chief Minister, he introduced a social security pension by paying Rs 35 per month. Later the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu enhanced it to Rs 75. On June 8, 2014, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu immediately after taking oath announced hiking of social security pension to Rs 1000,” the Minister recalled.
The Opposition YSRCP misled people by spreading false information that pensions would not be disbursed in time if the TDP was voted to power, he slammed, adding that 95 per cent of pensions disbursement had been completed on the first day on July 1 and 99 per cent achieved on July 2.
As per the assurance, free bus travel facility would be provided to the women in the state soon, he announced. The Anna canteens are being reopened across the state; he said, adding that the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance is working as per the aspirations of the people. Later the Minister visited primary school and Anganwadi School at Singarayakonda.
The YSRCP destroyed the development, he alleged, asserting that the alliance-led government is developing the State. The Minister questioned what the achievement of the previous YSRCP government was under the ‘Nadu-Nedu scheme’ as the schools across the state lacked basic amenities.
