Chief Minister Revanth launched the flagship Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme at the Macharam village in the Amrabad mandal of Nagar Kurnool district on Monday and declared that Atchampet would be developed into a national model of inclusive growth.

Addressing a large public meeting in the village, Revanth struck a deeply personal tone, calling himself a “son of Nallamala” and promising special attention to the region’s development.

The CM unveiled the ‘Nallamala Declaration’ with promises to spend Rs 12,600 crore on tribals and the development of Nallamala region during the next five years.

Emphasising that his government is committed to protecting tribal rights and promoting agriculture, the Chief Minister said that solar pump sets will be provided to all farmers cultivating podu lands in the next 100 days.

“The BRS government jailed people for demanding rights over podu lands. But our government has the distinction of promoting cultivation there. We are empowering the farmer, and not punishing them,” he said.

The Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme, named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, aims to combine solar energy with irrigation to transform upland and tribal areas.

Revanth said that Rs 60,000 crore has already been spent for the welfare of farmers, and the introduction of Rs 500 bonus over and above the Minimum Support Price for fine variety paddy has made cultivation profitable again.

“Earlier, paddy cultivation was a burden. Now, it has become a source of dignity and income,” he said.

Revanth announced that the government is distributing fine rice to 3.10 crore people through the PDS and is supplying 200 units of free power to 50 lakh families.

He underlined the transformative impact of free TGSRTC bus travel for women and said his government had gone a step ahead by making women owners of TGSRTC buses.

“We have awarded solar power projects of 1,000 MW capacity to women self-help groups. Telangana women are not just entrepreneurs, they are competing with Adani and Ambani,” he declared.

Highlighting his government’s record on job creation, the Chief Minister said that over 60,000 government jobs have been filled within a year. “Our goal is to turn Telangana into the richest state in India, not just the youngest,” he asserted.

Revanth said the Centre had recently declared Telangana as the best-performing state in controlling the prices of essential commodities and maintaining law and order.

“When we formed the government, many questioned whether leaders from Palamuru could run the state. Today, Telangana stands number one in all sectors. That is our answer,” he said.

He invoked former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s enduring popularity among the poor and tribals, drawing a parallel with his own initiatives to grant land rights and irrigation access. “Indira Gandhi didn’t rule through slogans. She ruled from the hearts of the people. We are following that legacy,” he said.

Revanth also addressed the criticism against his government, stating that malicious social media campaigns funded by corrupt money will not deter him.

The Chief Minister concluded by asserting that the free rice, farm loan waivers, bus travel for women, and free power are not temporary sops, but structural support systems that would continue to improve the lives of the poor and farmers.
