Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has reaffirmed the coalition government’s commitment to improving education for the underprivileged, while launching a series of developmental projects worth Rs 5.78 crore in the Macharla constituency of Palnadu district on Monday.

The Minister commenced his tour with the foundation stone laying for additional infrastructure at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Karampudi, where new facilities are being constructed at a cost of Rs 2.55 crore. He later inaugurated construction works for new buildings worth Rs 1.51 crore at the upgraded KGBV Junior College in Durgi. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for a new girls’ hostel complex within the Andhra Pradesh Model School premises, to be built at a cost of Rs 1.72 crore.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Gottipati stated that the coalition government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh, stands firmly with the poor and is focused on strengthening the education sector across the state. He said the government is taking substantial steps to improve the quality of education.

Criticising the previous YSRCP government, the Minister accused former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of having damaged the education system. He alleged that teachers were humiliated during the previous regime, even being posted to supervise liquor outlets — an act he described as a disgrace to the teaching profession.

Local MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy, Narasaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu, and several public representatives and officials were present at the events.
