TPCC President Revanth Reddy lashed out at KCR saying that the government did not pay attention to the weather department’s early warnings and that KCR was more concerned about defections from his party than saving lives.
He criticised KCR for not conducting a preliminary review of the floods and turning Pragati Bhavan into a platform for petty politics.
Due to the negligence of the government, many people lost their lives in the floods.
Revanth said that while people were suffering due to the heavy rains, the CM was in his farmhouse and KTR was feasting.
“Government is dead in the state. The CM and the Municipal Minister have been washed away in the floods.
Is there a government in the state? It does not matter whether KCR and Minister KTR are on earth or not.
Now that people have already decided that they are not here, I call upon party leaders, workers and ranks to put taddinam to the father and son on Monday,” said Revanth.
He criticised the government for ignoring floods which have become common in the last nine years. It has become clear that there is a loss of Rs 3,000 crore in the state so far. It is estimated that 10 lakh acres of crops have been damaged. He demanded that Rs 20,000 should be provided for agricultural lands filled with sand dunes.
He demanded that families who lost their loved ones in the floods should be given Rs 25 lakh. Revanth said that Rs 15,000 should be given as temporary relief to those who have been affected by the floods.
On Saturday, Revanth toured Uppal and LB Nagar Assembly constituencies in his Parliamentary constituency. He criticised KCR for focusing on politics without reviewing the flood threat. When the state was affected by floods, the father and son behaved as if people’s lives don’t matter, he said.
Revanth said that the government completely failed to take flood relief measures and that KTR knows nothing but cleaning washrooms. When people are struggling in the floods, KTR is busy celebrating his birthday.
Revanth criticised KTR’s statements against Hyderabad as nothing but loud statements. He said that the situation in Hyderabad city has turned into a disaster and that colonies are flooded due to the greed of rulers.
He said 90% of Nizam-era water bodies have been encroached on by BRS leaders. Residential colonies submerged due to the encroachment of ponds, he added.
He said that LB Nagar MLA Sudhir Reddy joined the BRS for real estate and that Sudhir became the Chairman of the Musi Riverfront Authority and drowned the people of the constituency.
Revanth asked KCR why he is not visiting flood-affected areas even after 30 people died in the floods.
“Is the life of a dog in Pragati Bhavan more valuable than people’s lives? The government is dead in the state. That is why I am calling on Congress ranks to put this government in the flood waters. Revanth said that KCR did not mend his ways despite High Court orders.
He demanded that the Centre should immediately release Rs 1,000 crore to Telangana for temporary flood relief. He said that it is the responsibility of Kishan Reddy to get flood relief from the Centre.
He criticised Kishan for being indifferent despite the huge calamity and said that he should have explained the situation here to the Prime Minister and demanded funds.
All Congress MPs will meet Amit Shah in Parliament and give a report on flood damage. He wanted everyone to participate in flood relief activities cutting across party lines. Revanth called upon Congress ranks to participate in flood relief operations.
Revanth inspected the work on the elevated corridor in Uppal. He said that if there is no movement in the elevated corridor work by Monday, he will report to Nitin Gadkari on Monday.
He spoke to officials about the delay in the elevated corridor work in Uppal. Revanth appealed to the EE and ENC officials to speed up corridor work. He said that there is a delay in the work due to a lack of coordination between departments. Revanth said that people are facing severe problems due to work on the elevated corridor getting delayed.
Revanth visited Mamata Nagar in Nagole and inspected the unfinished drain works in that colony. He asked officials about the reasons for the delay in drain works. He brought to the attention of the authorities that the abandoned drain is dangerous. Officials were asked to take steps to prevent residents of the colony from suffering accidents. He appealed to the authorities to ensure that the work is completed as soon as possible.
Similarly, the residents of Omkar Nagar Colony on LB Nagar Sagar Road told Revanth that they are facing problems due to overflowing drainage lines.
