Govt introduced YSR Aasara for women’s empowerment: Collector

As many as 3,22,820 women received Rs.278.92 crore in the fourth phase of the YSR Aasara in the NTR district. District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao handed over specimen cheques of Rs.278.92 crore to women’s groups at a programme held at the collectorate in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the fourth phase of financial assistance ‘YSR Aasara’ to the Self Help Groups (SHG) at Uravakonda in the Anantapur district on Tuesday. Collector Dilli Rao, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, and others witnessed the programme virtually from the AVS Reddy Video Conference Hall on the premises of the collectorate in Vijayawada.
Speaking on the occasion, Dilli Rao said that the State government introduced the revolutionary scheme YSR Aasara for women’s empowerment. As many as 3,22,820 SHG members from the 32,431 groups received Rs.278.92 crore, he said.
He stated that the government has successfully implemented various welfare schemes in the State. The women should use these schemes and reach higher positions to get a sustainable income. For the empowerment of SHG members, the government is making MoUs with corporate companies and banks, he added.
Joint Collector Dr P Sampath Kumar, VMC Deputy Mayors Avuthu Sri Sailaja and Bellam Durga, Kapu Corporation Chairman Adapa Seshagiri Rao, Krishna Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha Chairperson Jamala Purnamma, DRDA PD Srinivasa Rao and others were present.
3,07,510 women receive Rs.295.02 crore in Krishna
Meanwhile, in Krishna district, 3,07,510 women from 31,336 Self Help Groups (SHG) received Rs.295.02 crore under the fourth phase of YSR Asara. District Collector P Raja Babu, Machilipatnam Mayor Ch Venkateswaramma, Deputy Mayor M Vijaya Lakshmi and DRDA PD PSV Prasad presented the specimen cheques at the collectorate in Machilipatnam.
