BRS working president KTR has condemned the arrest of GHMC BRS corporators, calling it an outrageous act by the Congress government. He accused the ruling party of targeting public representatives for exposing the government’s indifference towards Hyderabad’s development.
KTR questioned whether raising concerns about the lack of funds for Hyderabad justified the police action. “The Congress government has completely neglected Hyderabad since coming to power. When our corporators questioned this on behalf of the city’s residents, they were thrown out. Is this democracy?” he asked.
He alleged that the government failed to utilize the funds allocated in last year’s budget, and instead of addressing the issues, it was trying to silence those who were exposing the deception. “They are simply reshuffling the same budget figures on paper and making tall claims.
When our representatives pointed this out, their voices were stifled,” KTR remarked.
Lashing out at GHMC’s inefficiency under the Congress regime, KTR said the administration was failing to provide even basic civic amenities like sanitation, drinking water, and uninterrupted power supply. He demanded that all development projects initiated by the previous government be completed without delay.
KTR warned that until then, the BRS would continue to question the Congress government and hold the Chief Minister accountable for Hyderabad’s urban development. He demanded the immediate release of the arrested corporators and party leaders.
“If the Congress government believes it can suppress public representatives through arrests instead of implementing promised schemes, they will face the consequences in the people’s court,” KTR cautioned.
