The TG Congress government is trying to place various conditions on farmers who want Rythu Bharosa funds to deceive them and is also trying to dupe tenant farmers and farm labourers, Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy said.
He was addressing the media at the State BJP office here on Friday. He said the Congress had made many promises before and after Assembly elections. But not even a single promise has been implemented, he pointed out.
“There was no change in the lives of the people who voted for the Congress. There is no change in Telangana. Only the figures in the government have changed. Earlier, BRS leaders used to loot. KCR’s family looted Telangana. Today Congress ministers are looting TG,” Kishan said.
He said that before the Assembly elections, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy toured Telangana and made many promises. But the government is now helpless and none of its guarantees can be implemented. It is also conducting victory celebrations and issuing press releases to fool people, he said.
“The government knows what crops are being cultivated in the state. How much land farmers are cultivating in each village. Although the government has details about how many farmers are there, it is trying to hide it in the name of applications,” Kishan said.
The Congress government has no intention to help farmers, he added.
Kishan said the Congress Government cut the farm loan waiver scheme by giving it in instalments. Conspiracies are going on to cut the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He said the Fasal Bima Yojana introduced by the Centre to support farmers is not being implemented.
Citing the Warangal Rythu Declaration, the Congress gave many assurances to farmers like financial assistance of Rs 15,000 under the Rythu Bharosa scheme and Rs 12,000 for farm labourers. The promises given so far have not been implemented, he said.
Kishan said that the Congress Government colluded with rice millers and made farmers sell their produce at prices lower than MSP. He said the Centre is ready to purchase the entire grain but nobody knows why the Congress Government failed to purchase paddy properly.
He said that the state government did not buy paddy at the MSP paid by the Centre. For months, the paddy was left in market yards and soaked by rains it sprouted, doing injustice to farmers, he said.
Kishan said that the state government need not spend a single Rupee for procuring grain. The Centre pays the entire money for purchasing paddy, that is, Rs 26,000 crore. However, the state government is not procuring paddy, he said.
