The BJP’s Chevella MP, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, said that the state government should rethink on the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) land issue.
He said that there were trees and mounds in those lands and many species of birds and animals are living there. Is it correct on the part of the state government to sell those lands as the government’s finances are bad, he said.
Addressing the media at the state BJP office here on Monday, Vishweshwar said the government should not harm both nature and students and criticised BRS leaders, who sold government land during their rule, for staging a dharna protesting against the sale of HCU lands.
“The state government should examine alternatives instead of selling lands. If the BRS had been in power, they would have sold this very land by this time. But they are protesting now. A fact-finding team of the BJP will go to HCU,” Vishweshwar said.
Meanwhile, former MP Seetharam Naik said that selling HCU land is like selling our children. The lands of Kakatiya University have also been alienated. HCU needs thousands of acres. KCR and Revanth Reddy are trying to destroy Telangana. The sale of these lands should be stopped immediately, he said.
