Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the government is planning to expand SCCL on a global scale.
“We have appointed experts to gather information and recommendations for this. Once we receive the report, we will initiate the action plan. SCCL, with over a hundred years of experience, is being considered for profitable ventures in technical and mineral excavation. New mines are ready to extract 22 million tonnes of coal in the next 30 years,” Bhatti said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the SCCL General Manager’s office and workshop at Palvancha on Saturday.
He said the primary goal is the safety of SCCL workers, business comes only after that. In case of accidental death of an SCCL worker, we are providing Rs 1 crore accident insurance along with compassionate appointments.
This is a record in the country,” Bhatti said.
