Govt playing games with people: BJP

Must read

BJP national secretary Y Satya Kumar has alleged that the YSRCP-led government is manipulating the people of Andhra Pradesh. His remarks come in the context of the ‘Aududam Andhra’ sports event organised by the YSRCP-led government.
Addressing the media on Monday, Satya Kumar criticised the YSRCP government, claiming it is poised to exploit significant funds under the guise of hosting a statewide sports event. He rebuked the government for its failure to develop sports facilities and infrastructure, accusing it of prioritising the ‘Aududam Andhra’ event without proper groundwork.
Satya Kumar suggested that the people of the State are eager to engage with YSRCP leaders in a game of football as a symbolic gesture against their alleged misdeeds. “The Jagan Mohan Reddy government is metaphorically playing football with the people, kabaddi with government employees, and cricket with the youth,” he lambasted. Satya Kumar issued a warning to officials who comply with the YSRCP’s directives in manipulating voter lists, cautioning that they will face consequences.
“While other states in the country are progressing, Andhra Pradesh is lagging in development. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is deceiving the people, and I urge him to heed the teachings of Jesus Christ for reform,” he remarked.
Expressing concern that farmers affected by cyclones have not received adequate compensation, Satya Kumar criticized the government for its failure to assist those impacted by natural disasters. He accused the government of limited action, such as posting tweets on social media, during times when crops were being damaged due to drought and cyclones.
“The Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government is in such a sorry state that it cannot even repair gravel roads in rural areas,” he added. Responding to questions about the potential alliance between the YSRCP and the BJP, Satya Kumar clarified that the BJP leadership would decide on any such alliance, emphasising the need for a thorough consideration of the circumstances.
