The state government has prepared a plan in advance for supplying ‘Pachirotta’ (green manure) seeds and has given an indent of 90,000 quintals to the Telangana Seeds Corporation and 40,000 quintals to the National Seed Corporation.
Of the 32 districts, 20 have been allocated to the TG Seeds Corporation and 12 to the National Seeds Corporation. The Telangana Seeds Corporation has so far brought 71,535 quintals and has started distribution in the 20 districts allocated to it.
Meanwhile, since the National Seeds Corporation has supplied only 1,000 quintals of the 40,000 quintals allocated to them, there have been problems in supplying seeds in the 12 districts allocated to them.
When this matter came to the notice of Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao, he asked officials to start supplying the remaining 12 districts through the TG Seeds Corporation as well and to ensure that the farmers of those districts did not face any difficulties.
Alerted by this, officials started supplying the pachirotta seeds they had in the 20 districts initially allocated to the TG Seeds Corporation and also in the 10 districts allotted to the National Seeds Corporation.
Meanwhile, the National Seeds Corporation, which had not started supply as per the earlier agreement, met their state officials and officials in New Delhi, and requested them to immediately start supplying Pachirotta seeds.
TG government officials have also started attempts to provide additional seeds through the TG Seeds Corporation.
