Minister for Social Welfare Merugu Nagarjuna has reiterated that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government is committed to provide the benefits of welfare schemes to all eligible poor and called up on eligible poor to avail the opportunity.
The Minister, along with Collector P Ranjit Basha, participated in the ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ programme at Manduru in Tsunduru and Moparru in Amrutaluru mandal on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Rs 2.40 lakh crore worth of welfare scheme benefits have been extended to the beneficiaries during the last four years.
The benefits were directly credited into the accounts of beneficiaries doing away with the mediators, he maintained.
The Minister claimed that 95% of assurances given by the YSRCP during the election have been implemented.
He reiterated that all required certificates are being provided to the people during the Jagananna Suraksha programme to get the benefits of welfare schemes.
“Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving priority to women’s welfare. He is also intended to make women self-reliant politically and financially and various programmes are being implemented in this regard,” the minister said and appealed to the people to extend support to the government.
Collector Ranjit Basha called upon people to utilise the welfare schemes being implemented for them by taking required certificates during Jagananna suraksha programme.
The Jagananna Suraksha programme is aimed at providing welfare scheme benefits to those who are not getting them, the Collector said.
All required documents and certificates would be issued at free of cost during the Suraksha programme, he stated. As many as 40,000 certificates are issued every day to the people during the Suraksha camps across the district, the Collector added.
Repalle revenue divisional officer Parthasaradhi, Vemuru constituency special officer Arjun and other officials were among who participated in the programme.
