Govt releases Rs 50 cr to Vijaya Dairy

The State government released Rs 50 crore to Vijaya Dairy pending bills to dairy farmers on Monday. The Vijaya Dairy on Monday, in a press note, said that they would release the money to farmers on Tuesday.
The press note said that “we are constantly striving to achieve target and make timely payments to farmers.”
It further said, “We request our dairy farmers to remain calm as we are fully aware of the situation and are responding accordingly”.
“To make the dairy farmers more economically viable, we are paying a higher procurement price for milk than the current market price. We also promise to pay the rest of the milk bill arrears as soon as possible”, it said.
