TS government has approved the creation of 33 new positions under the Director of Public Health (DPH). These sanctioned posts comprise 28 positions in the Director of Public Health(DPH) state office, along with an additional five District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) specifically allocated to Hyderabad district.

The decision was made in line with a Cabinet meeting held on May 19, following the recommendation of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

As a result of the latest Cabinet decision, the total number of DMHOs across the state will now increase to 38, further strengthening the health infrastructure and services offered to citizens. Minister Harish Rao expressed his optimism about the positive impact of these newly sanctioned positions on medical services in the state.

The breakdown of the sanctioned posts under DPH are Additional Director (Admin): 1 position, Joint Director (Admin): 1 position, Deputy Director (Admin): 1 position, Assistant Director (Admin – State Cadre): 3 positions, Administrative Officer (State Cadre): 4 positions Office Superintendent: 6 positions, Senior Assistant: 12 positions. and DMHO: 5 positions
