Govt taking steps to control cancer: Venkat

Assuring that the Congress government is taking steps to control cancer, R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy gave a call to conduct medical tests early to detect cancer.
Participating in the Global Cancer Run–2024 organised by the Grace Cancer Foundation at the Gachibowli Stadium on Sunday, Venkat said that programmes like this organised with the theme ‘Running For Grace, Screening For Life’ will make people understand the importance of early cancer tests.
He said the Congress government is not only giving digital health cards but has also taken steps to control cancer. Although doctors are saying that cancer can be controlled if detected early, many people who have no awareness of cancer are dying due to late diagnosis, Venkat said.
“The Grace Cancer Foundation is doing a good job of creating awareness by conducting free cancer screening tests. Cancer has been affecting the lives of lakhs of poor people and there is a need for everyone to join hands to control cancer,” he said.
