The government would resolve land issues by August 15, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.

He said that revenue meetings would be held in all remaining mandals from June 3 to June 20 in connection with the Bhu Bharati Act.

“Revenue officers would approach people from June 3 to 20. The revenue system will come to villages and resolve problems. We will conduct surveys in all mandals using trained surveyors,” he said.

Ponguleti toured Palakurthi on Monday. Addressing the media, he said there is no need for farmers to even pay a rupee and that the revenue system will solve all problems of the public free of cost.

He appealed to revenue officials to solve the problems of farmers from a human angle. “The BRS government misused the revenue system for their selfish needs. However, the Congress government has been correcting the mistakes of the BRS government,” he said.

The Tehsildar’s team would visit all revenue villages and resolve problems and accept complaints from the people. During BRS’s rule, farmers were stuck with problems, and they had to approach the courts for every problem. However, the Congress government is going to the people and will solve their problems free of cost. The steps taken in this direction have become successful, Ponguleti added.

Revenue services were available to a few during BRS rule. “The Congress government is determined to provide revenue services to everyone at the village level. Collectors should solve land problems with a human perspective and must visit the field from time to time, focusing on land problems,” he said.

As per the Bhu Bharati Act, Village Administrative Officers (GPOs) will be appointed in all mandals soon, he said.

The Bhu Bharati Act says that the survey map should be submitted along with documents during land registration. This is done to provide a permanent solution to land disputes, he said and added that the Survey Settlement Department is being strengthened.

“In the first phase, we are going to appoint 6,000 surveyors in the next two months. We are going to conduct a re-survey in 413 villages that do not have maps. The survey is already being conducted on an experimental basis in five mandals. Similarly, the digitalisation of survey records (maps) has been initiated through TGRAC (Telangana Remote Sensing Applications Centre), and it is being implemented on an experimental basis in three mandals,” Ponguleti said.
